The Club

The Wordy Women book club meets once a month to discuss books that we have previously agreed to read. The club "name" is a convenience that we created when we entered the community Christmas Tree Decorating contest in 2013 (we won, and sent our winnings to the Baddeck Library to aid in the purchase of new books; click the little tree to see a high-resolution, much bigger image).

Mostly, we read 6–8 books each year, depending on when we feel like firing up and shutting down around the summer tourism season. We meet somewhere in the North Shore/St Ann's area, again depending on what space is handy at the time. Good coffee and tasty snacks, and potluck lunches feature at each gathering; those of us who can't cook really appreciate our clever friends!
